Someone at the gathering (a big Quaker retreat that I went to a few summers ago) gave me a piece of paper with this saying on it, and I believe it true. Naps do help!

Forget
Affirmation #11: Sometimes you will forget things, but that's okay. I know you usually stress out when things are forgotten of left behind, but just know that everything is going to be alright. You might have to suffer a consequence, but you will get through it. It's alright and God will be with you every step of the way, whether is leaving your homework at school or forgetting to go to work. It'll be alright. Just take a deep breath and go!

Doors to life
Affirmation # 10- Let your accomplishments be heard, but not too loud. Let your failures be cried, but not for too long. in another way, show the things you are proud of that you have, but don't brag. And let the things that were lost (not necessarily failures) also be shown, but don't dwell on them for too long.
A lot of this has happened to me. I had many things that I was proud of be taken away. But recently something I am proud of has happened and I'm pretty sure that's it'd not going anywhere. I know that things can and will be taken away, but don't fret, another opportunity will come your way. Remember: when one door closes , another one opens.

Shortcuts
Affirmation # 9- There are no shortcuts in life. You have to take the long path to get where you want to go. This path may be the difficult one but you will always have help. Don't be afraid to keep pushing forward. You need to keep going forward. Don't be afraid.

Blog
Affirmation # 8- Take the time to think things through.
I read this saying on a poster at school. I love it because every word begins with "T" , and of course it has a message. I have taken the time ( or maybe not) to realize a blog doesn't have to be daily. It just has to be something that you can share your thoughts on and express your feelings. It's special when you can find somewhere you can do that.

Famous
Affirmation # 7-No matter how rich or famous some one is, they always have time to listen. Even if they are in a rush and speak to you, know that you are one person they made time to meet, and that makes you very important.
This happened to me today. I was very fortunate. I was with my mother at a Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra concert in a beautiful church. We went because I wanted to hear the French Horn players, since I am one. We were told, after the concert was over, that there was an after party downstairs, so we checked it out. We didn't see anyone we knew, so we got some snacks and beverages and sat dow. A minute later a man came over and put his coat on the chair next to me and then my mom spilled her food on the ground and I asked why. She said it was because the man who put his coat down was a very famous man. It was Paavo Jarvi, a world famous music conductor. My mom and I went up to him and told him we loved the music and that I was a young French Horn player. He though t that was so cool and he told me to keep practicing and I would and up like Elizabeth Freimuth, who is the principal French Hornist. We met her at Green Acres Foundation the spring before. He then shook our hand and smiled a great smile. And thats how I met a very important person who has encouraged and inspired me in playing the French Horn!

Learn
Affirmation # 6- Today I learned from the young ones. I was in a 1st grade class and I learned many things: have patience, show them you care, and help. I learned many other things , so take the time to learn from others and they will learn from you. I miss you 1st grade class!
